Bulgarian Parliamentary Delegation Holds Talks in Beijing
Beijing - A delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee of the
Bulgarian Parliament, headed by Committee Chairman Solomon
Passy, met with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Financial and Economic Committee of China's National People's
Congress, the Bulgarian Parliament said in a press release on
Monday.
Passy expressed satisfaction with the more vigorous bilateral
relations in recent years, noting specifically the opening of a
Bulgarian Consulate in Shanghai in 2006.
The meeting discussed Bulgaria's role, as an EU member state, in maintaining a strategic EU-China partnership. The Chinese parliamentarians underscored the importance of the current visit for promoting bilateral relations, particularly between the two parliaments, and expressed satisfaction with the growth in two-way trade and economic exchange.
The Bulgarian delegation is also expected to meet with China's
Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Quan and other officials from
his Ministry.
